PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING - Expert knowledge in various areas including the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual violence, victim advocacy, organizational development, strategic planning and non-profit management. Consulting services are available to both individuals and organizations.

  • Services for individuals include criminal and civil case review, trial preparation and expert testimony in court.

  • Services for non-profits include assessing organizational wellness, conducting evaluations, communications, fundraising and social engagement, strategizing potential growth, risk management and providing an action plan for change.

DIVORCE COACHING - Specialized counseling is offered for individuals and couples to address relationship and family challenges and to help set healthy goals and ways to achieve them.

  • Divorce coaching assists clients during relationship, and/or co-parenting struggles, by offering support while they face separation, divorce or a civil custody matter. Having the support of a coach helps individuals process and think through the many decisions that need to be made during the court process. Divorce coaches do not offer legal advice. The coaching is designed to provide insight and guidance to the individual(s) involved, to help clarify the process and foster a new parenting partnership by helping to build effective communication strategies to reduce conflict and stress.

GRANT WRITING - Creative writing and strategic planning services are offered in Program/Project Grants, General Operating Grants, Capacity Building Grants, Capital Grants, Endowment Grants, and In-Kind Grants for non-profit organizations and municipalities.

  • Grant writing services include attending project team meetings, managing and cultivating relationships with external funders, maintaining appropriate data / grant compliance and expanding public and governmental grant prospects that ensure a continuous revenue stream.

TRAINING, EDUCATION & KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Presentations, educational trainings and formal speeches are available to meet the needs of all disciplines including social workers, clinicians, law enforcement, victim advocates, child welfare service workers, educators, medical professionals, first responders, court professionals, attorneys, legislators, government tasks forces, non-profit organizations, multidisciplinary teams and more.

  • Training and Education can occur in one-time seminar format or in short-term ongoing series format, virtually or in-person.

Lynn Nichols, MSAP

Lynn Nichols, MSAP, is a Consultant and a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Specialist who offers clients her knowledge and expertise while they are navigating through specific challenges. Lynn has over 18 years of experience working in the non-profit sector and served as the Director of a dual crisis agency in the state of Connecticut. As Director, she supervised and managed the organization’s programs and operations which included the counseling department, its domestic violence shelter, campus advocacy services, victim advocacy at court and area police departments and the agency’s volunteer program. Her passion for helping victims began in 2005 where she worked closely with domestic violence and sexual assault victims as a court-based victim advocate. During her years at court, she gained a tremendous understanding of the criminal and civil legal system and how to best guide victims.

Since starting her career, Lynn has helped thousands of crime victims and has given trainings to the Connecticut Counseling Association, National Association of Social Workers, multidisciplinary teams, law enforcement agencies, state universities, hospitals, and various community organizations. She has contributed to Connecticut’s Dual Arrest Task Force, CT Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, Domestic Violence Prosecutor Round Table meetings, the Lethality Assessment Program and is active in advancing legislation that directly impacts sexual assault, domestic violence, and trafficked victims. Lynn is a certified forensic interviewer for criminal investigations concerning child abuse and neglect, she is a certified domestic violence and sexual assault counselor, a professional grant writer, serves on the faculty for the Governor’s Task Force on Justice for Abused Children and is qualified by the State of Connecticut as an expert in the field. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Justice and Law Administration, a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice with a research focus of Victimology, Victimizations and Trauma.

In her private life, Lynn is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing, camping, gardening and taking long walks with her dog. She volunteers and commits many hours towards helping survivors of abuse and is dedicated to the love and care of her immediate and extended family.
